Easy Holiday Rice Krispy Treats
This is a quick and easy Rice Krispies Treats recipe that uses marshmallow Peeps and instead of making these on the stovetop, you will use your oven instead! These rice Krispy treats are so simple to make and are loaded with sweet marshmallow flavor! This is a recipe that you can make with the kids and will be a big hit with everyone at your holiday get-together or as an after-dinner dessert for the kids! Here’s how to make it:
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 1 Stick Unsalted Butter (thinly sliced)
- 16 to 20 Holiday Peeps (any shape or size works)
- Holiday Sprinkles (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a 9×13 pan, place your Peeps in a single row.
- Pour the Rice Krispies cereal all over the Peeps and spread it out to make an even layer.
- Place the thinly sliced unsalted butter all over the top of the cereal and spread butter out so it melts down evenly.
- Put pan in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and using a silicone spatula, mix everything together (the marshmallow Peeps will be nice and melted).
- Once the mixture is mixed well, press the rice crispy treats down in the pan to help it stick together.
- If you have sprinkles add them while the treats are still warm and lightly press to help them stick. Let the treats firm up, then slice (or use holiday cookie cutters) and serve!
