How To Keep Fit This Fall
Throughout the summer months, we have to get our outside workouts done very early in the morning to beat the heat. Now that fall is here, we can get a cool, crisp outside workout without worrying about the heat and humidity of summer, so I have some tips I am sharing to help you keep fit during the fall months…
Take Advantage of The Weather
Fall is waited upon for the cooler weather it brings above all else. The perfect time of year to enjoy outdoor exercise activities of every variety such as trail hiking, biking, walking the dog, outdoor aerobics, outdoor sports and more. With only so many days between summer’s end and winter’s beginning, time is of the essence when it comes to taking advantage of the autumn weather. The cool crisp air is good to the body while making exercise and outdoor activities much more enjoyable.
Eat In-Season Produce
With nutrition being a vital component to any successful fitness plan, fall is the time to stock up on in-season produce. Find out what in-season produce works best with your taste buds and add them to your shopping cart each week. Save money and gain vital nutrients when the produce is at its peak such as pumpkins, apples, cauliflower, grapes, figs, cranberries, pears, winter squash, and more.
Set Yearly Goals
A good way to start the fall season is to get a little more goal oriented. Goal setting keeps you focused and progressing year after year. Consider adopting annual goal setting into your life. Maybe you are training to run a marathon and need to log mile times, keeping track of weekly weight loss, log nutrition intake, or exercise five times each week. Whatever your goal may be, write it down, hold yourself accountable to achieving it, and check it off your list when the goal is accomplished.
I have said it before and I will say it again, fall is my favorite time of year and with the summer heat and humidity behind us, now is the time to get outside and get your exercise on and until next time, be happy, healthy, and beautiful!!
