My Beauty & Personal Care Empties (Summer Edition)
It’s time to take another trip through my beauty and personal care trash (there is a lot as always since I try to do this every season) and see what I liked, what I didn’t like and what I would repurchase again:
Skin Care
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser – This has been is my go-to nighttime cleanser for a long time and I love it! It cleanses, hydrates and does not leave my skin feeling dry after using. I have tried many other hydrating cleansers and I always go back to this one!
CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion – This is my go-to moisturizer for about as long as the hydrating cleanser! This has ceramides, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, does not have any fragrance, and moisturizes my skin. I use this morning and evening without fail!
Trader Joe’s 100% Organic Argan Oil – Another longtime favorite is this Argan Oil from Trader Joe’s. I use this twice a day every day for years and my skin loves it!
Trader Joe’s Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion SPF 15 – I have been using this moisturizer longer than any other product listed here! I love it! I know it is only SPF 15, but it is hydrating, works well under makeup and contains vitamins A, C & E.
Perfectly Pure Natural Vitamin E Moisturizing Stick – I started using this around my eyes twice a day for about as long as I have been using Trader Joe’s Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion and absolutely love this (available on Amazon).
Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power Cream Wash – I have used this cleanser every morning for quite some time now. It contains 2% salicylic acid, green tea, and cucumber, is not drying and perfect to use after my morning workouts.
Carmex Classic Lip Balm – Love this! I have been using this forever and will continue to repurchase again and again!
Pixi Vitamin C Serum – I really wanted to like this, but this did not brighten my skin as much as I thought it should. Will not repurchase.
Pixi Glow Tonic – This has 5% glycolic acid and aloe. My skin does really well with glycolic acid and loves this and I have repurchased another one.
Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads – I received this from Boxycharm a few months ago. This has lactic acid (which is great if you have sensitive skin and are looking for an acid), but this was not enough for my skin so will not purchase.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5 – I really enjoyed using this and my skin loved it. Would repurchase again.
Tatcha Violet C Radiance Mask (sample size) – This is an expensive mask which I feel is not worth the money because I did not find this to perform as the packaging said and would not purchase the full size.
Tula Star Bright Nourishing & Brightening Cosmic Hydrogel Mask – I got this in a Boxycharm a few months ago. This was a good sheet mask (and I love sheet masks), but the mask was a 2-part mask which I did not like and did not stay on for the recommended time the mask needed to be on. Will not purchase.
Equate Beauty Makeup Remover Wipes – I love this makeup remover wipes and are just as good as their brand name counterparts and will buy again.
La Mer The Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream (sample size) – This was sent to me. This was a little too much moisture for my skin (and my skin is dry), used around my eyes at night. Loved it but will not repurchase the full size (expensive).
Swisspers Exfoliating Cotton Rounds – These have an exfoliating side and a soft side. I use the exfoliating side with the Pixi Glow Tonic to help remove dead skin cells every morning. These are fantastic and have repurchased.
Chanel Le Coton Extra Soft Cotton Pads – These cotton pads are like no other I have used. They are soft and do not fall apart while using and would consider repurchasing even though they are quite pricey.
Makeup
Essence What The Fake Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara – This mascara was not as good as their Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara. I really had to work with this mascara to get the results I wanted, so will not repurchase.
L’Oréal Voluminous Superstar Mascara – This has a primer on one end and the mascara on the other end. The primer is great, but the mascara is not in my opinion and will not repurchase.
Maybelline Define A Lash Mascara – This is an okay everyday mascara for a no makeup, makeup look, but did not become a favorite, so will not repurchase.
MAC Up For Everything Lash Mascara – I loved this mascara and would repurchase, but it is waterproof (which I did not know when I bought it) and very hard to remove, so will not repurchase.
Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer (in shade 020 Light Beige) – This is a really good budget friendly concealer. Covered what I needed covered and would repurchase again.
Beauty Blender – We all know how well the Beauty Blender is and I have loved using it, but I have found an alternative (Beakey Blender, pack of 5 from Amazon) that is just as good and have switched.
Body Care
Olay Ultra Moisture Shea Butter Body Wash – This is my all-time favorite body wash. I have tried other body washes and I always return to Olay because the rich formula leaves my skin hydrated after getting out of the shower, it is just the best!
Johnson’s Shea & Cocoa Butter Baby Oil – I need all the moisture I can get so I apply this before my shower. It does help keep my skin hydrated while taking a shower and will continue to repurchase this.
Equate Cocoa Butter Petroleum Jelly – I apply this to my feet and cover with cotton socks every night before bed. Been doing this for years and will continue to repurchase this.
Equate Moisturizing Care Advanced Recovery Body Lotion – I wash my hands frequently so I keep this at the kitchen sink to keep my hands moisturized after every hand washing, works well and always repurchase.
Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion (with almond oil for very dry skin) – This is a must have in the shower for me! This moisturizes my skin without feeling sticky and always repurchase.
Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion (with cocoa butter for dry to very dry skin) – I decided to give this a try. It is good for dry skin, but my skin is very dry, so this did not moisturize as well and will not repurchase.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream – This has been my go-to body cream for a couple of years now. I love how it really moisturizing my skin especially during the winter months. Cannot be without this cream and repurchase all the time.
Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream – This was sent to me. I used this on my face, not a fan of that, so used this as a foot cream. Worked well on my feet and may repurchase in the future.
Dove 24h Invisible Solid Anti-Perspirant Deodorant (in Powder) – I decided to try this over my all-time favorite Degree. It worked well and would consider repurchasing again.
Hair Care
As I Am Long & Luxe Pomegranate & Passion Fruit GroWash – This co-wash is the best that I have used. It cleans, conditions, and detangles my hair and I do not have to use additional replenishing, conditioning or detangling products on my hair if I do not want to and has helped slow down my hair loss (due to hypothyroidism). This does it all for me and repurchase all the time.
Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater – I bought this to use as a facial mist, but really did not care for it as a facial spray, so used it on my hair after washing. Worked well on my hair, will not repurchase.
Self-Care
Equate One Daily Women’s Multi Vitamins – My go-to multi vitamins for years from Walmart!
Spring Valley Calcium 600 mg +Vitamin D3 20 mcg – My go-to calcium and vitamin d supplements for years from Walmart.
Spring Valley Vitamin C 1000 mg – My go-to vitamin c supplement for years from Walmart.
Spring Valley Elderberry 50 mg – The newest addition to my supplements and also from Walmart. This is for immune health and I have been taking this for a while now and I have not gotten sick. Definitely will repurchase.
Dental Care
Hello Antiplaque + Whitening Fluoride Free Toothpaste (in natural peppermint) – Great toothpaste! It has tea tree and coconut oil and really cleans my teeth and freshens my whole mouth and I would repurchase again.
Hello Naturally Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste (in farm grown mint) – Also a great toothpaste! This also has tea tree and coconut oil. Gets my teeth clean and freshens my mouth and would repurchase this again too.
Hello Naturally Healthy Antigingivitis Mouthwash (in natural mint) – This has aloe vera and coconut oil and no alcohol. I really enjoyed using this mouthwash and would repurchase again.
Equate Antiseptic Mouthwash (in Blue Mint) – This has been my go-to mouthwash for years. Works just well as its brand name counterpart, is cost effective and always repurchase.
Oral B Glide Gum Care Floss Picks – These are great for back teeth, gentle on gums and easy to use. These are my new go-to floss picks and continue to repurchase!
I sure did accumulate a lot of beauty and personal care trash, but now I can toss out all the empties and start again for fall and until next time, stay happy, healthy, and beautiful!
