Makeup Monday: Beauty Tips For Returning To The Office
Over the last 2 years many of you have been working from home and now the time has come for you to return to the office. Whether you are returning full time or part time, it’s time to get back into getting ready for work in the morning and you want to look polished and put-together (after working from home in loungewear and little to no makeup), so I have put together a list of tips for perfecting your office beauty routine that will have you out the door and, on your way, back to the office!
Hair
If you have overslept or you just don’t have time to style or wash your hair, make use of dry shampoo (I like Batiste Dry Shampoo Hint Of Color in Beautiful Brunette) and the ballerina bun (or a bun that you like). This look is sleek and professional without taking too much effort in the morning. Braids, fishtails, and polished ponytails are also your friend and easy to do. Also, make the time to dry your hair on mornings that you do wash it then put your hair in a bun or ponytail.
Makeup
When it comes to makeup, you want to keep your look simple and easy to maintain throughout the workday. Here are some suggestions to help you get yourself ready for work:
For Your Face:
A tinted moisturizer, skin tint, BB or CC cream (my go-to’s are Maybelline Dream BB Fresh in 110 Light/Medium and Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator in Light/Medium) are easy to blend onto the skin with your fingers (as well as with a brush or makeup sponge) and takes a minute or two to apply.
If you need a little concealer for under your eyes and/or to hide imperfections, use one that you know will blend in no time (my go-to concealers are e.l.f. Hydrating Camo Concealer in Fair Warm and Garnier Clearly Brighter Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller in Sheer Tint).
For Your Eyes:
Sweep on a bronzer or a neutral eyeshadow over your crease and lid and if you want a hint of shimmer, pat some subtle highlighter (my fave highlighter for my eyelids is Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight) on your lids.
For Your Cheeks:
Use a blush that can do triple duty as not only as blush, but also as bronzer and highlighter (I like the baked blush from Milani, 06 Bellissimo Bronze. For me, it’s an all in one for my cheeks, but be careful, this is one pigmented blush).
For Your Lips:
A little lipstick, gloss, or tinted lip balm (I love Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Nude Lust, as well as NYX Butter Gloss in Madeleine and Burt’s Bee’s Lip Shimmer in Peony) will make you look instantly put-together, just stay with nude shades such and pinky, peachy or beigey nudes and you are good to go.
Another good tip is to keep a small cosmetic bag with your beauty essentials such as a small mirror, lipstick, gloss or lip balm, powder compact with a mini brush or blotting papers, and a mini makeup setting spray in your desk drawer. You never know when your makeup will need a little touchup while at the office. I hope these beauty tips helps you when you return to working in the office and until Wednesday, be happy, healthy, and beautiful.
