Walmart Beauty Haul (Birthday Edition)
My birthday was about three weeks ago, and I received a gift card for Walmart, so I decided to treat myself to a few makeup products that I have been wanting to try. Now, I have been using these products every day for three weeks, so here is my haul and my thoughts on each of the products I purchased:
For The Face:
My original plan was to purchase e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter, but this is completely sold out, so I decided to buy Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Perfector 4-In-1 Glow Makeup (in the shade “Light” $9.98. This is another dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter). All I can say is WOW! I absolutely love this! This evens out my skin tone, provides light coverage and gives me a healthy, radiant glow! This is going to be repeat purchase for me and if you are on the hunt for the e.l.f. version and can’t find it anywhere, I highly recommend trying this from Maybelline!
Another face product I bought was e.l.f. Halo Glow Setting Powder (in shade “Medium” $8). I stopped using powder some time ago because powder (whether pressed or loose) makes my dry to very dry, mature skin look and feel even more dry, cakey and powder always settles into my facial expression lines. This powder is finely milled, light weight, doesn’t settle into my lines, doesn’t make me skin feel or look dry and helps my makeup to last the entire day! I will be repurchasing this powder again, it’s that good!
The last face product I bought is an all-time favorite of mine and that’s the e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set ($8 for 4.1 oz.). This setting spray contains aloe, cucumber, green tea, vitamins A, C & E and has no alcohol! This is soothing, hydrating and helps my makeup last all day!
For The Eyes & Brows:
I have watched a few beauty YouTubers rave about the Wet n Wild Always Naked Eyeshadow Palette ($8.48), so I picked this up. I will say, for me, this is a powdery eyeshadow palette with fall out and the colors seem to look muddy and run into each other and really did not look good on my eyes no matter what. But I found that picking up very little color at a time, applying lightly to my eyelid and slowly building up the color and blending well before applying the next shade seems to be the way I need to apply these shadows and the look I created with this palette on Saturday looked really good using the techniques I just mentioned. Good palette, great color story, shadows are powdery but pigmented and I do recommend, but take your time applying if you buy this for yourself.
I am always on the hunt for the best drugstore mascara that gives me lots of length, volume and holds a curl. It has been many years since I have used a mascara from Revlon, so I decided to give the Revlon So Fierce Mascara ($7.37) a try. This mascara is good and held a curl, however, to get the length and volume I wanted, I had to apply more than two coats. Although this mascara did not clump, I didn’t like the time I spent getting my lashes to where I wanted them to be. In my opinion, this would be a good everyday mascara, just not good for a glam look unless you have the time to spend to apply coat after coat of this mascara.
The last two products I bought were for the brows and are also all-time favorites starting with e.l.f. Instant Lift Brow Pencil (in the shade “Neutral Brown” $3). Love this brow pencil, repurchase all of the time and I bought e.l.f. Wow Brow Gel (in shade “Neutral Brown” $5) which in my opinion rivals some of the high-end brow gels and I also buy this on repeat.
That’s all that of the beauty from Walmart I purchased for myself on my birthday! Do you use any of these products? If so, please let us know how you like them in the comments below and until Wednesday, be happy, healthy and beautiful!
