What’s Up Wednesday: Make Your Own Matte Liquid Lipstick

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

There are so many matte liquid lipsticks on the market today from high end to drugstore and not only can it be overwhelming to decide which brand, formulation or color will be best suited for you, but it can also be expensive buying formulations and colors that end up not being right for you! Now, if you are like me and you have an overabundance of hydrating or moisturizing lipsticks, but you want to add a few matte liquid lipsticks to your lipstick collection, but you don’t have the time or the cash to buy new liquid lipsticks, then consider making your own with what you have at home.

In this blog post, I tell you how to make your own matte liquid lipsticks at home that will not only save you time, but you will also save you money too! Here’s how to make your own matte liquid lipstick:

You Will Need:

  • Eyeshadows (mauves, corals, peaches, pinks, or whatever shades you feel like using)
  • Matte Liquid Foundation (preferably a matte mousse foundation in a light shade like this one)
  • Vitamin E Oil (like this one)
  • Small Mixing Bowl
  • Small Plastic Travel Cosmetic Jar with Lid (like this one)
  • Lip Brush (for application, like this one)

Directions:

  1. Scrape a small amount of your chosen eyeshadow shade into a small mixing bowl.
  2. Add a dab of matte foundation onto the bottom of the travel cosmetic jar.
  3. Gradually add eyeshadow color and work into a paste.
  4. Once you have your desired color mixed into a paste, add a few drops (3 to 4) of vitamin e oil to moisturize, liquify and smooth out the mixture.
  5. Grab your lip brush and apply to your lips.

That’s it! Easy to do and takes practically no time at all to create your own custom-made liquid lipsticks with what you have at home!
