January Favorites (and Fails)
January brought the beginning of a new year and lots of winter weather and now January is over, so it’s time to talk about what I have been loving (and not loving) this past month:
FAVORITES
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream in the shade Light* – I am in love with this! It covers my imperfections, keeps my skin hydrated and luminous and protects my skin with SPF 50+! It’s the perfect all in one product and will re-purchase when I run out!
It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara* – This mascara checks everything I look for in a mascara! It lengthens and gives volume to my lashes unlike any mascara I have tried (and I have tried a lot from the drugstore and high-end)! This is a mascara that I will be re-purchasing!
It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil in the shade Universal Taupe* – This pencil is easy to use, glides onto my brows with no skipping and the best part is, no matter your hair color, you can create the perfect brow color to match your hair color and would consider re-purchasing again!
Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment in the shade Rose* – This lip treatment gives my lips much needed hydration while giving my lips a hint of color. Perfect for no makeup- makeup days or anytime you need to hydrate your lips!
FAILS
It Cosmetics Bye-Bye Pores Illumination in the shade Radiant Translucent* – My skin is dry (a little more so since it’s winter) and as much as I wanted to love this, it just isn’t working for me. I apply a light dusting over the CC+ cream and this just seems to suck the moisture right out of my skin and I had to spray a hydrating makeup setting spray over my face a few times and it helped, but not enough for me to continue to use this (I will revisit this product again in the summer when it’s hot and humid and see if it works better).
L’Oréal Revitalift Triple Power Deep-Acting Moisturizer* I received this to test from Influencer this past summer. I used it at night, and my skin started breaking out, so I put it away to try again during the winter when my skin is very dry. I pulled it out again and used at night and my skin started breaking out again, so I stopped using it. Whatever is in this cream, my skin doesn’t like so this is a no go for me.
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water* Although this is supposed to be for all skin types including sensitive skin, this dried out my skin and burned my eyes no matter what type of mascara, eye shadow or eyeliner I was wearing, so this isn’t the best micellar water for my skin.
Algenist Ultimate Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser* This product is a little confusing to me. It’s a gel cleanser that transforms into an oil cleanser then into a milky cleanser after you add water. I followed the directions as stated on the product and it did not work the way it was supposed to. I used this for over a week and it just didn’t work for me, so this is another product that isn’t for me.
